School abroad in a new language

Hi followers!

Since im on a roll tonight, i decided to write another post. Picture this. An Italian who has lived in Italy for his past 15 years, who has gone to Italian public schools since 12 years is suddenly sent in a new school, a totally different type of school, in a country 1600 km away. That's what happened to me. And i wanted to share it with you.
Public Schools in Italy are different. We are hardly taught to speak some English there. I know it's too easy to blame teachers, but whenever i think about my english lessons, I always associate them with our really crappy teacher. On the other hand, there were really lazy and unbearable students who couldn't be bothered to buy/bring the book into class (yes we had to go in bookstores and buy books).
Then i went to this school called "United World College Maastricht". Here my english skills got improved over time. Now i have close friends and even a girlfriend :P
When i talk to some Italian mate, i can still feel that stupid mentality of careless study of the English Language. I really think that studying abroad in English has really changed me. The Italian mentality is sometimes too backward and i feel so lucky for having been able to study in en english college.
Learning languages and having an international experience is really advisable and helpful as opposed to staying in the same country of origin and keep using your only language.
Change is the Key.

May the italian force be with me for all my life.

Alla prossima! :) (italian way of saying : see you next time!)

Politics

Hi everyone!

I'll admit that i am not that interested in politics, but whenever i think about politicians through my 17 years old italian perspective, the image of Berlusconi pops up in my mind.
Im not very proud of him, the way he does represent our country. I have never been that interested in politics but i have experienced him as the funny Italian Prime Minister well-known all over the world for being into escorts. This is like a commonplace in Italy and I really can't be bothered to go in more depth and try to find out if he is any good as politician. I think the best option is just replacing him. It is going to be very difficult, but i think it would make happy lots of Italians.

See you dear followers,

First Post!

This is my first post in my first blog. As you can assume by reading the title, this blog is created by an italian guy(me) and it basically focuses on what happens to me on a daily/week/month basis and how i perceive things about the world. My strong italian background (which i'm proud of) can have an impact on my perception of things: what i want to do is creating an original blog in which i comment on what i like, what i don't and maybe trying to trace my behaviour to my italian culture. I don't wish to create a blog on which i would simply talk about things, but i'll also try to link these to my italian culture.
I hope you have a clearer idea of what this blog is about.
Regards,

An Italian Guy :)
